A listing on MakerShake is not just a link to your project. It is a place where people can also find you — the maker behind it.

Makers can show an Available for work badge so potential customers can reach out to commission an app, hire them for a contract, or ask about a custom build. It turns a directory listing into a real lead channel.

The Available to remix badge tells visitors the idea is open to be reimagined — they can build a different take, adapt it for a new niche, or localize it for their country or language.

Pro and Pro+ makers can show a funding status — Bootstrapping, Open to funding, or Actively raising. Pro+ makers also get a highlighted badge, an optional fundraising note, and inclusion in the investor filter.

A listing is not just a link. It is a starting point for collaboration.

Discovery only matters if it leads somewhere. That is why MakerShake is a network as much as a directory — and all of it is free on every plan.

Save any project with one click and it lands in your own collection — searchable, filterable, sortable, and always there when you want to come back to it. Makers get a signal when someone saves their work, so a bookmark is real feedback.

Follow the makers you believe in and hear about it the moment they publish something new. Followers and following are shown on every maker profile, each row linking to that maker and their latest project — so every follow keeps working as quiet, ongoing marketing.

Message each other privately once the follow goes both ways. Mutual follows only, on purpose: real conversations between makers who chose each other, never a cold-DM inbox.

Ship, get found, and actually meet the people building next to you.

Every project URL submitted to MakerShake is screened before it goes live — and re-checked afterwards on a rolling schedule. This is not a manual gate you wait on; it runs automatically in the background.

The screening covers address hygiene (punycode, hidden characters, spoofed look-alike domains), DNS resolution, reachability and redirect resolution, live malware feeds from URLhaus, and AI-assisted content classification that flags illegal, political, or adult material.

If a submission looks clearly unsafe, it is blocked and never published. Borderline cases go live but land in an internal moderation queue for review. Live listings are re-scanned every few days so a site that turned bad after going live is caught and suspended automatically.

There is also a hard limit of 10 project submissions per account per 24 hours to prevent flooding. Reporting a project from its page triggers a fresh safety scan and files it for review.

If the plan is to abuse MakerShake, it will not work. Build something real instead.
